From April 10–12, together with our partners we proudly participated in the IPM HortiFlor Expo in Shanghai – one of Asia’s largest and most influential trade fairs for the horticultural industry. With participants from over 30 countries and regions, the event provided a powerful platform for showcasing innovations, strengthening partnerships, and engaging in dialogues on the future of horticulture.
This aftermovie captures the energy, connections, and key moments of our time at one of Asia’s leading horticultural trade fairs.
NL Pavilion: A Hub of Innovation
At the heart of the Dutch presence stood the NL Pavilion, where DGD was prominently present together with leading Dutch innovators. The Pavilion quickly drew strong interest from Chinese visitors, eager to learn more about sustainable and efficient greenhouse solutions, high-tech systems, and smart horticultural practices from the Netherlands.
The Pavilion also received attention from Ambassador André Haspels and Agricultural Counsellor Erik Smidt, who showed their support for the ongoing cooperation between Dutch and Chinese partners in the horticultural field.
Seminar: Dutch Horticulture Shaping the Future
One of the key highlights of the expo was the seminar “Dutch Horticulture Shaping a Future of Efficiency and Sustainability,” co-organized by DGD and the Dutch Embassy, with support from the Shanghai Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission. The event attracted more than 100 attendees—including investors, developers, growers, and government officials.
During the IPM, DGD had the honor of signing two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), focused on advancing new demonstration projects and horticultural training initiatives.
Looking Ahead: Zhejiang–Netherlands Horti Cooperation
Following the IPM Expo, DGD – together with 15 Dutch horticultural companies – participated in the Zhejiang–Netherlands Horti Cooperation Conference. Co-organized with the Zhejiang Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Huzhou Wuxing Government, this matchmaking event facilitated dialogue with representatives from 10 different regions in Zhejiang province. The level of interest in Dutch technologies and cooperation was high, paving the way for new partnerships and potential projects.
Conclusion
With valuable new contacts, promising agreements, and an eye toward future collaboration, DGD looks back on a successful edition of IPM – and forward to the opportunities ahead.
