With an enthusiastic Dutch delegation of businesses, government and education, we explored various horticultural regions to learn more about the current state of Japanese horticulture. This aftermovie looks back on our inspiring days in Kochi Prefecture.
By visiting growers, innovation centres, educational institutes and public stakeholders, we gained valuable insights into the challenges Japan faces. From rural revitalisation to reducing food import dependency, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) offers a way forward – and creates exciting job opportunities along the way.
With 425 years of friendship between Japan and the Netherlands, we’re proud to build on that Common Ground and explore how Dutch knowledge and technology can contribute to a resilient future for Japan.
This mission was part of our preparation for Horti Week in September, during Expo 2025 Osaka – and just the beginning of what’s to come! Curious about the Dutch horticultural contribution to Expo 2025 Osaka? Read all about it here on our special Expo 2025 Osaka webpage.
